Who we are

MISSION
The White Oak Wind Orchestra is committed to educating and enriching the community and surrounding area by providing quality concerts and allowing local musicians an opportunity to continue their musical growth.

PURPOSE

  • To inspire the community and audience members to develop an appreciation of the musical arts

  • Promote cooperation between WOWO and other local musical and choral organizations

  • Perform multiple concerts each year for the community, as well as establish small ensembles for other venues such as parades and festivals

  • Allow local musicians an opportunity to continue their musical growth and inspire their fellow musicians through discussion and exchange of information regarding music and instruments, to foster camaraderie, and create lasting memories.

    MUSIC DIRECTOR

    Adam Haskett is the Music Director of The White Oak Wind Orchestra. He studied Music Education at Lamar University and brings a deep passion for community music-making and wind literature. In addition to his role with WOWO, Adam serves as an Assistant Director and trombonist for The Prevailing Winds, performs with The Fellowship of the Swing Big Band, and plays in several chamber ensembles across the region. He is also a published composer with TRN Music Publisher, with works performed by ensembles across the country. Under his leadership, WOWO has launched with energy, excellence, and a vision for continued community engagement and musical growth.

  • KYLE MANUEL

    ASSISTANT DIRECTOR

    Kyle Manuel serves as the Assistant Director of The White Oak Wind Orchestra. A graduate of Stephen F. Austin State University, he brings a strong background in music education and currently teaches elementary music. Kyle is also the Assistant Director and trombonist for The Prevailing Winds, performs regularly with The Fellowship of the Swing Big Band, and is an active member of several chamber ensembles throughout the region. His passion for teaching and performing helps drive the ensemble’s musical excellence and community-focused mission.
